Description

In the 23th Century, humanity experienced a prosperous age of exploration, discovery and possibility. New worlds were discovered outside the boundaries of the Solar System, known ones were colonised and turned into hub worlds, while explorers set out and raised their flags on new ones. As the first extrasolar colonies were established, the possibilities seemed limitless and the future of humanity seemed brighter than ever before in history......until they made contact with a hostile force.

The extrasolar colonies began to fall, one after the other, forcing humanity to evacuate it's colonists and withdraw to the safety of the Solar System. Although it seemed hopeless, the reorganised military of Interstellar Defence Coalition managed to grind the advancing forces of the Grand Orion-Cygnus Union to a halt; preventing the fall of Earth and establishing a demilitarised zone on the very boundaries of the Solar System.

With their backs to the wall, humanity now faces new challenges and must continue to fight for their independence and defend their home system from any outside threats. However, they are not alone in this struggle.

The Solar Sytem

The cradle of mankind, now home to many other races and the only bastion of safety.

Brief history

Since their beginning, humanity stared up at the night skies, creating charts, naming stars and wondering what was out there. In 2099, their question was finally answered when a religious, spacefaring race, the Lunaris, entered the Solar System and made contact with humanity on Earth's moon; seeking a new home in exchange for their knowledge of space travel. Since then, both the humans and their newfound allies began expanding to the outer reaches of the Solar System, meeting a new race along the way and with their help, reaching to the very boundaries of the Trans-neptunian region and even beyond.

Races

Lunaris

The lunaris (Iosinii) is the human name given to a race of highly spiritual extraterrestrials that first made their presence known on Earth's moon, having travelled for centuries after the destruction of their homeworld, Vasidra. They are tall (7-8ft), herbivorous, slender humanoid beings with bright white skin, long arms and legs, a small mouth, three fingers on each hand, two toes on each foot, a glowing spot on their heads which they see through, and luminescent blood. They speak with eerie, reverberating voices which sound ghostly and polyphonic to humans, but are also soft and soothing like a harmonious choir. This is due to them being able to convey several different emotions at once, while talking; as if a dozen thoughts were speaking together.

They have the unique ability to absorb light and use it to create solid objects from their bodies for a limited amount of time, depending on the size of the object and the amount of light required. Most of them now live on the moon while some have special permission to reside on Earth, enlightening others in exchange for asylum. They write in glyphs which are read top to bottom, and speak a language known as Iosinic (IY-OS-IN-IC or EE-OS-IN-IC). When speaking another language, they have a tendency of using archaic terms and sentences. Having spent centuries in space and on the low-gravity Moon of Earth, their muscle structure has weakened greatly, along with their immune systems and temperature threshold.
